Some bands you know are going to be good just by the name of their band. Irish group September Girls are one of those bands and not just because they share their name with a classic song by Big Star. Their sound has a slight resemblance to the Alex Chilton/Chris Bell group, but for the song "Sister" these girls are more post punk and shoegaze than early 70's power pop. They released their debut album, Cursing The Sea, earlier this year with little fanfare, but then they made a big buzz at SXSW and people are starting to take notice.
